Paul Engle (CEO)Paul Engle (CEO) has over 30 years of experience in managing high tech companies - private and public, in Europe and US. He's been an executive with Hewlett Packard, Agilent and CEO of Avanex (NASDAQ). A serial international entrepreneur with a successful track record of growing businesses to annual revenues of up to $1B, Paul was most recently CEO of Xignal AG. This fabless, mixed-signal IC company in Munich was sold to National Semiconductor in 2007. He completed an Executive Program from Stanford University, an MBA from University of Dallas, and a BS in Mathematics and Physics from Pan American University, a part of the University of Texas. Paul studied graduate physics at the University of North Texas.

Sulaiman M. Ahmad (VP Business Development)Sulaiman M. Ahmad (VP Business Development) has over 12 years of international experience in finance, investments and business development, 4 years of which are within the renewable energy sector, with a focus in the solar PV market. At Enecsys since 2007, Sulaiman has been spearheading business development and recruiting the senior management team. Sulaiman is also a Partner and co-Founder of Winsome SA, an investment and advisory firm based in Switzerland, dedicated exclusively to the renewable energy sector. In addition to advising European, Middle Eastern and South Asian companies on market entry, corporate and competitive strategy, Winsom SA has advised on US$25 million of assets, with an interest in venture capital investments. Sulaiman completed his BSc at the HEC Lausanne, and an MSc Economics at the LSE in 1997.

Andy Matthews (COO)Andy Matthews (COO) has over 18 years experience in the development of products and technology for the telecoms and optical component markets. Andy has held senior management positions in companies such as Nortel Networks and Bookham Inc, where his responsibilities have included leading international teams in research and development, business strategy and operations management. Andy has extensive international experience in the UK, Canada, the West coast of the USA and the Far East. Most recently, he was VP engineering at Light Blue Optics Ltd. a Cambridge based company who are developing miniature projection technology.

Andy Matthews (COO)Bernd Kohlstruck (Managing Director Enecsys Europe GmbH and VP Sales & Marketing - Europe) joined Enecsys after 9 years at Xantrex Technology Inc., where he was Vice President of Wind and European Solar Business and Managing Director, Berlin. Under his leadership, Xantrex developed into a strong European player in the commercial and industrial solar markets. He brings to Enecsys extensive experience in sales and marketing, and he is a well-known business leader in the solar and wind power electronics market. His previous roles included Managing Director at Alstom/Ballard and leader of AEG's power supply systems and decentralized power supply business. Bernd is a qualified power electronics engineer, owns several patents in this field and participates in a number of sustainable energy councils.

Asim Mumtaz (Founder and Chief Architect)Asim Mumtaz (Founder and Principle Engineer) has over 10 years experience in microelectronics and solar photovoltaic’s research. He is a founder of Enecsys and developed the company’s first IC and led prototype development. He has interests in sustainable development and has been involved in the implementation of a number of solar and wind energy projects in 4 African countries. Asim holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge.

Lesley Chisenga (Founder and Principle Engineer) Lesley Chisenga (Founder and Chief Architect) has over 7 years of experience in research and product development. As founder and technology director at Enecsys, he has been instrumental in the company’s technical achievements and has made a significant contribution to the company’s IP and patents. He undertook his PhD in engineering at the University of Cambridge, specialising in control aspects of photovoltaic systems. Lesley is a graduate of Imperial College, London.
